Dr. Chen Holds Special IBO Meetings in the Philippines
On April 8, 2014, Dr. Tei- Fu Chen, founder and chairman of Sunrider International, conducted two meetings in Makati, the Philippines. To kick-off the first session, attended by about 30 established IBOs, Dr. Chen revealed the key message of the meeting by answering his own question about what it is that people are actually selling when they conduct a Sunrider business: “Rather than just selling products, we are selling an opportunity to make money.”

Dr. Chen explained that selling Sunrider® products can serve as a channel to earn money: “Just selling products should not drive your business; selling the opportunity to make money should. Selling products to cure ailments or improve health should not be the motivator. If you just talk about products, you are simply a sales person. If you want to be truly successful, think of how you can also help people make money through Sunrider.”

Dr. Chen illustrated this point with an example: “McDonald’s sells an opportunity, not hamburgers. McDonald’s, the company, sells a money-making opportunity while the franchise stores are the ones that sell the food products.” Dr. Chen also stated that to become rich, one must have confidence and be driven by an unshakable desire to succeed.

He also shared a PowerPoint presentation that focused on how Sunrider can help people achieve a great lifestyle, creating the opportunity for financial freedom, improved health, more family time, and less stress.* He explained how other companies make use of deceptive “number games and illusions” when describing their business plan. In contrast, Sunrider offers a genuine, straightforward business opportunity with a rewarding compensation plan, including generous bonuses.*

The IBO Meeting was followed by a “Special Meeting with Dr. Chen,” attended by more than 100 IBOs and guests. Dr. Chen once again emphasized the importance of promoting Sunrider’s money-making opportunity. He also stressed that “there’s no free lunch. People should not just work hard, but work smart.” He also reminded Sunriders to always make use of the “three-feet rule,” the concept that anyone within three feet is someone you can talk to about the Sunrider® business opportunity. He said that if people follow his advice, they will earn a lot of money.*

*The earnings stated above are not necessarily representative or typical of the earnings Sunrider Independent Business Owners (IBOs) can or will earn through participation in the Sunrider Business Plan. These statements should not be considered as guarantees or projections of your actual earnings or profits. The average annual income of Sunrider’s active IBOs was $1,558 in 2011. An active IBO is an IBO who has purchased 100 IBO$ or more in 2011. As with any other independent business, success results only from dedicated sales efforts, hard work, diligence, and leadership.
