Olympians and Sunrider Make a Winning Team
Sunrider recently had the opportunity to interview two elite athletes from South Korea who shined brightly during the 2012 London Olympic Games, winning medals in their respective sports of taekwondo and boxing. In this exclusive interview, both Olympians share some of their Olympic experiences and discuss the the important role Sunrider® products played in their training, weight management, and athletic performance.

Name: Dae-hoon Lee
Sport: Taekwondo
Latest Achievement: 2012 London Olympics Silver Medalist
Date of Birth: February 5, 1992
Height & Weight: 6 ft., 134 lbs.

How have you been since the 2012 London Olympics?
First of all, I sincerely want to thank the public for all the love and support they’ve given me throughout the past season. I’ve been swamped with interviews for TV stations and reporters. Recently, I’ve been trying to gain back the 17 pounds I had to lose before the Olympics so I can enter the upcoming National Games.

Can you share any impressions of the Olympics?
This was my first Olympics so I felt lost and didn’t know what do at first. Luckily, I received lots of help and guidance from the more experienced athletes who came with me. And the facilities were amazing! It was so much better than the Olympic Village I stay at in Korea! [laughter]

We understand that as an Olympic-caliber athlete, you have to give up a normal teenage lifestyle. How do you manage your stress? And how do you take care of your body?
Frankly, during the Olympics, I was more sad than stressed because of the fact that I was not able to make time for my friends. But I don’t regret it because I gained a different kind of memory and achieved a priceless medal. These days, I try to meet my friends as much as possible to catch up on the lost time. I think my special diet program gives me more stress. Of course as an athlete, you have to take care of your body. And so I work out a lot by enjoying different types of sports, such as soccer.

Taekwondo is an extremely aggressive sport. What do you do to maintain your energy? How did Sunrider® products help you?
I used to take herbal medicines, but now I just eat nutritional foods regularly, along with some health supplements. I have to be very strict with myself so that I don’t overeat. This is why I liked VitaShake® so much; it helped me control my weight. I also liked Sunrise® because it kept me energized. I thank Sunrider for the great results and I would love to continue to enjoy Sunrider® products in the future!

What do have planned for us in the future?
I’ve achieved my goal as a professional athlete by competing in the Olympics, and I’m proud of winning a medal. I truly believe I could not have done it alone. I thank all the people who have supported me throughout the years. I will continue to strive for excellence and hope to establish myself as an unforgettable athlete in the sport of taekwondo.

Name: Soon-Chul Han
Sport: Boxing
Latest Achievement: 2012 London Olympics Silver Medalist
Date of Birth: December 30, 1984
Height & Weight: 5’10”, 132 lbs

How have you been since the 2012 London Olympics?
I’ve been invited to numerous TV shows and interviews after the Olympics. I was so busy that I didn’t even have time to get together with my family. But I try to stay focused so I can perform well in the Nationals in October.

Boxing seems like one the most extreme sports. How do you take care of your body on a regular basis? How did Sunrider® products help you?
I value a strict diet. Exercise, nutritional foods, and health supplements are essential parts of my life. Out of all sports, boxers have to deal with the most weight changes. This is why we try to stay nutritionally balanced and energized with healthy supplements. I especially liked MetaBooster® and Sunrise®–they definitely gave me a boost and I felt less tired after my intense workouts. Also, even though I don’t have a sweet tooth, I liked VitaShake®; it wasn’t overly sweet and tasted great. As with many athletes, when we train intensively, we tend to have a difficult time getting a good night’s sleep. Fortunately, I had Calli® Night to help me sleep through the night. I loved the whole Sunrider experience and would love to continue to share them with my fellow athletes!

What are your goals in the future?
My goal is to box with all my heart and energy until the day I retire. After I retire, I plan to go back to school and study for a doctorate. Being excellent in two disciplines will be a challenge, but I will do my absolute best and make my fans and family proud.
