Sunrider Wins BrandLaureate Award 2010–2011
|
Sunrider was selected as the winner of the “BrandLaureate Award 2010–2011 for Product Branding Best Brands in Manufacturing—Premier Herbal Products.” The award presentation took place during a glittering ceremony on March 23, 2011, at the Shangri-la Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. Dr. Tei-Fu Chen, founder & chairman of Sunrider International, and Dr. Oi-Lin Chen, president, flew to Malaysia to receive this award.
This annual recognition event is organized by the Asia Pacific Brands Foundation—the only branding foundation in the world—which has a main objective of “defining and raising industry standards for brand excellence in Malaysia and the Asia Pacific.” The black-tie awards event put on by the Foundation recognizes “the best brands from multinational companies, large corporations, and public-listed and government-linked companies in Malaysia and the world.”
It was a night of celebration, and Drs. Chen shared it with special guests, friends, and associates, including ten proud and excited Sunrider ABO Store Owners, who attended in support of this thrilling achievement. The event’s guest of honor was Tan Sri Dr. Zeti Akhtar Aziz, Malaysia’s first female Governor of Malaysia Central Bank. Luminaries included the president of the Malaysian Franchise Association, Mr. Abdul Malik, and the vice president of Malaysian Retailers Chain Association, Dato’ Nelson Kwok, in addition to prominent media representatives.
Before the gala event began, Dr. Chen was filmed for an interview conducted by the BrandLaureate on how he felt to be an award recipient and why branding was important to his company. Entertainment for the night included a riveting dance performance that set the tone for the evening, and a mesmerizing performance by entertainer extraordinaire Anita Sarawak.
The president of the BrandLaureate, Dr. KK Johan, gave a speech highlighting the importance of creating brands that reach new horizons in increasing market share, creating new trends, and building brand communities. Dr. Johan congratulated the winners of the BrandLaureate Award, expressing how they set the benchmark for brand excellence.
