Dr. Chen Holds Special IBO Meeting in Jakarta, Indonesia
Dr. Tei-Fu Chen, founder and chairman of Sunrider International, recently traveled to Jakarta, Indonesia, to conduct a special meeting for Independent Business Owners (IBOs) on April, 10, 2014. More than 50 IBOs, many of whom are new, attended the meeting and were excited about the opportunity to learn firsthand from the world-renowned business leader and herbal expert.

The meeting started with Dr. Chen stating that “everybody wants to make money. The only difference is how much money you want to make. Do you want to make small money or big money?” Using McDonald’s as an example, he explained how McDonald’s the company sells a money-making business opportunity by leveraging its valuable brand equity and reputation for corporate excellence. On the other hand, the McDonald’s stores sell the actual food—the hamburgers, fries, and shakes. Dr. Chen then posed the question: “If you want to make big money it’s very simple. Just look at which side you are on. Are you acting as McDonald’s the company or the store?”

Dr. Chen underscored his key message by saying, “Just selling products should not drive your business; also selling the opportunity to make money should. Selling products to cure ailments or improve health should not be the motivator. If you just talk about products, you are simply a sales person. If you want to be truly successful, think of how you can also help people make money through Sunrider.”*

To address the challenge IBOs often bring up about not knowing what to say when presenting the Sunrider opportunity, Dr. Chen shared this good news: He has created a simple, easy-to-follow “Opportunity Presentation” using PowerPoint. IBOs simply need to put it in their USB drive and it’s ready to play, anytime, anywhere. The attendees were impressed with the new presentation and thrilled when Dr. Chen told them it will soon be translated into their official language, Bahasa Indonesia. The meeting left the attendees informed and inspired, ready to share the Sunrider business opportunity with others.
