Sunrider Supports Mentors International Fundraiser
On Friday, October 13 in Salt Lake City, Utah, Sunrider, together with the George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Foundation, was a gala corporate sponsor of Mentors International’s largest fundraising event of the year. The event brought in much-needed money to help Mentors International continue its incredible work to lift thousands of families around the world out of poverty through education and entrepreneurship. Several Sunrider IBOs joined Jonathan Beutler, Sunrider’s Director of Public Affairs, to represent Sunrider at the event and enjoy the evening's entertainment, provided by pianist William Joseph and opera-trained tenor Nathan Pacheco.

During the event, recognition included Ms. Deborra-Lee Furness, Australian actress and adoption activist, and wife of actor Hugh Jackman, being awarded with the organization's International Humanitarian Award, and Mark Petersen, President & CEO of Mentors International, announced the organization's plans to launch an operation in Ghana in 2015. Petersen also had this to say about Sunrider’s longtime support: "Mentors International has been so grateful to Sunrider for the hand up you have so generously given to thousands of impoverished entrepreneurs throughout the world. For many years you have served these hardworking families to end extreme generational poverty in their lives."

Mentors International was officially founded in 1990 by a group of businessmen with extensive international business and humanitarian experience in developing countries. These individuals knew that poverty in developing countries could be alleviated by building grassroots enterprises using microcredit and education to help the impoverished achieve self-reliance.
